Hi friends 

Sorry for my long absence. this is my latest hobby. Junk journalling. I create journals of different sizes with different packaging and the journal comes with small books,tags, pockets of different shapes and sizes and other goodies tucked in several pages and the edges are completed with lace. There is writing space too inside the journal. Each journal is unique and only one person gets a journal and another will never have the identical journal. I pour lot of love to make each journal by hand and I really enjoy the process.

World of the ocean

 Good evening dear friends

This is my card for the Double D Challenge  creatures in/under the sea

I decided that I want to do a one layer card. I stamped and fussy cut the fish and a crab and coloured using the Inktense color pencils given by my loving friend Darlene Pavlick. Thank You Darlene. Then I created the background of the sea using blue color ink and a finger dauber. I am just learning ink blending and so decided to keep it simple . I also colored the sky using a little blue ink. I adhered three layers of the fish and the crab to give dimension. I learnt it from Jennifer Mcguire.The fish crab and the blue color was my inspiration from the moodboard. I stamped the sentiment Make A splash and adhered three layers to give it dimension. I adhered the fish,the crab and the sentiment strip using liquid glue. 

Viola my card was done.

Embossing

 Good Evening Friends

This is my card for the Can You Handle the Pressure Challenge

I embossed an unbranded embossing folder with flowers and butterflies onto a orange color card. To me flowers butterflies and the card stock was all summer. In Sri Lanka we enjoy summer all year around. I embossed it using my Cuttlebug machine which I love so much. I heat embossed the sentiment sending you Sunny Smiles onto a piece of black cardstock using clear embossing powder and my card was done..

Happy Birthday

Good afternoon ladies

 Can you imagine that this is the first post for the year. I never knew that six months have already gone. I was involved in arranging my craft space and my job and other stuff kept me busy. Although I made some cards I forgot to take pictures before giving them over. Sorry about it.

 

I made two cards 

One for my darling grand daughter Rashida and one for my Son in law Ciaran who is a darling son to me.They are both celebrating their birthdays on first and fourth of August. I made them early as I had to post them to ensure that they get on time. 

The card I made for my grand daughter is a little pop up card . I pasted a birthday themed pattern paper to which I adhered the Unicorn.to the front  of the card. It is a die cut of an unicorn She loves unicorns.  To create dimension I pasted two unicorns together and slightly colored them using a pink color marker from AlteNew. I pasted birdies cut from a die.Hope you like my card.

The card I made for my son in law too I pasted a birthday themed pattern paper to which i die cut the word happy five times in different colors and pasted using liquid glue. I pasted the word Birthday too using liquid glue. I didn't add any bling to the two cards as I thought that the happy birthday themed pattern papers were sufficient. 

I used a little bit of the pattern paper to decorate the inside of the card for my son. For my darling grand daughters card  I cut the words happy Birthday from the same pattern paper and adhered to the back of the card as well as one item from the pattern paper to the envelope as well to ensure the coordination.

Cat Lovers Hop

Dear Friends

Good afternoon Ladies.

This is my card for the Cat Hop 2021. 

I had a rubber stamp with the words Meow and I stamped it an angle to fill in the piece of white cardstock. Then I took a circle of peach colored cardstock in which i stamped the cat and the ball of yarn in black and Blue I added four hearts in peach as embelishments. The sentiment You Clever Cat was stamped in black ink. This is my project. The cat, the ball of Yarn and the sentiment is from Art Impressions which I got as a gift from a previous Cat hop. I dont have many cat stamps as i started crafting a few years ago. Also in Sri Lanka there is only few places stamps and they dont have any cat themed stamps.

Update on our cat family

We also have a jet black cat. she gave birth to two cats a male and a female. The female is very skinny but very active.She looks like the cat in my card.

Home made stencils

 A very good afternoon friends

I had a few stencils and my friend and crafter Ishani gave me some stencils but I did not have the above designed stencils. I took an old Xray sheet and cut it to 4.25 *5.5 and I left a border and cut the middle portion. Then i cut strips and adhered with glue. I didnt do any intricate patterns as i am not a good artist. I am super happy with the stencils and I plan to do a card using these background stencils.

Bureau storage

 Good afternoon ladies

This is how  we can see from the front . I made this bureau storage using cardboard and pattern paper and according to the instructions from Sam Calcott. I was always fascinated by Bureaus done in wood and now having one done in paper I can be  satisfied. I store my home made Gesso and Texture paste which is not available in Sri Lanka and shipping costs to import is huge. So I surfed the internet found the recipes and made it using white acrylic paint and glue. I also store the measurement spoons and other stuff that go with it and I have some more space left. As i could not get two pattern papers in same design and same colors I used same design pattern papers but in complimenting colors of pastel green and pink.

This is when open. it has four dividers and a small holder too which covers two dividers.

 Good evening ladies

For this card I used grey as my base and attached peach color pop ups. The patter paper I used to cover card base is pink while I attached a butterfly in black and my sentiment too  in black. I am not sure whether I have matched the colors as we dont get many colors of cardstock in Sri Lanka.

Baby card

 Good Morning ladies

For this card I used an embossing folder with flowers and butterflies. Then I stamped a squirrel and colored it using watercolor pencils from Colleen. I fussy cut it and attached a stamped cake. I adhered everything using foam squares. I attached the sentiment too using foam squares. I did not attach any bling as the embossing is really rich.

Let's spin it

 My Dear Friends

 

Yesterday Jennifer Mcguire taught how to make spinning cards and I was impatient to make one and I did it. I had this die and I die cut it and there was a big empty space so i traced around the inside with a pencil and cut the circle and adhered it after making a small circle to put the button. I adhered glue on the back of the button and adhered it onto the space in the circle. Then I cut another circle and pasted on the front  or top of the button. I pasted the sentiment Hello and here is my completed  card.

Love in the air

 Good Morning Ladies

I stamped all the images using black ink. Then I colored the images using Derwent Inktense pencils and Colleen water color pencils I added three small plastic red color circles to add the bling to the card. I attached it to a top folding black color card base and this is my simple card.

Shades of green

 A very good afternoon Ladies

For this card i used rtwo stamps of a big and small pumpkins as most of it is green. I attached the two pumpkins using foam squares to give dimension. Then i stamped the sentiment direct to the card and attached three green color circles to bring in the bling. and as i felt that the card was empty i attached a butterfly. The greens i have used are the closest I can get to the challenge colours.

Method

I used a plaid stencil and made the background using blush from AltE New using a sponge dauber. Then I stamped the two butterflies using Black ink and colored them using water color pencil. I stamped the sentiment using black ink.

Congratulations

 Good Afternoon ladies

This is a vellum card with a shaker inside. I cut the vellum piece half inch more than the card size and sealed it on all three sides.Then I added shaker elements and closed that side too. I adhered a blue color butterfly and added the cake platter and the yummy cupcake too. The sentiment is congratulations. I am not a gd photographer sorry about it.
